Upon completion of High School, Mr. Morton began working at the prestigious St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank. While there, he served as Teller, Senior Teller, Teller Supervisor, Loan Clerk and Acting Officer in charge at the Saddlers Branch. He left that institution in 1987 and commenced employment at the Bank of Nova Scotia. In 2019 Mr. Morton was appointed General Manager at National House Corporation (NHC). 

His educational background reflects: Letters of Accomplishment from The Institute of Canadian Bankers in 2002. Pursued studies for AICB accreditation. Completed a past English language, History, Geography and Mathematics at CXC and Commerce at GCE in 1980. Attended several Leadership Training Courses organized by the Bank and received a Certificate in Human Resources, held by CMD of The University of the West Indies.

Mr. Morton has been in the banking field for 27 years and his professional experience includes: Manager of Bird Rock Branch, Commercial Banking Trainee, Credit Support, and Assistant Manager Sales Support. He has also held responsibility for Coaching of support staff, preparing staff for the Relationship Focused Service, Presenting material to adults for Saving an Investment Course organized by the East Caribbean Central Bank. Facilitated on the service statements and standards at the Young Employees Socialization Seminar which was organized by the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Bankers and ensuring smooth and efficient management of the department.

Mr. Morton is sociable, approachable and willing to work with others on a variety of levels. He is tolerant of the views and opinions of others, passionate, dedicated and honest. Mr. Morton has been involved in numerous civic and community activities. Notably he is an Executive member of the St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association for 20 years. The St. Kitts National Basketball Team has been fortunate to have the coaching ability and managerial experience of Mr. Morton. He is currently the secretary of the Rotary Club of St. Kitts and a Member of the Wesley Methodist Church.
